This intake system also features a heat-insulating molded plastic tube that replaces the stock intake tract and directs increased air flow with improved volumetric efficiency for maximum performance. One-piece heat shield requires little or no assembly and utilizes factory mounting points for easy, no-cutting or drilling installation. The filter is constructed with 100% polyurethane for long life and multiple cleaning cycles.
Oil-free 2-layer synthetic media
Increased air flow upto 50% for better performance
Increases horsepower & torque
Improces Fuel economy
99.4% efficient** for excellent protection
Wire mesh for structural integrity & quality
Convenient quick & easy cleaning
2-LAYER SYNTHETIC CONSTRUCTION
FOR MAXIMUM AIRFLOW AND DUST-HOLDING CAPACITY
1. Outer screen provides strength and prevents damage to filter media.
2. Thick layer slows air velocity so dust particles fall out of suspension and become trapped in fabric fibers.
3. High efficiency thin layer traps remaining dust particles without slowing airflow.
4. Inner screen provides support and quality without the need for additional internal structures.
Three cleaning options:
**Cumulative efficiency test per SAE J726 - Coarse Dust test procedure using 21-40035 air filter.

Pros: sound Cons: install

It definitely gives a better sound overall which is better. The turbo spool down lasts longer and is a little louder which sounds sick, also makes the engine sound a bit louder. This is most noticeable with the windows down. Also while idling you can hear the turbo spool without giving any throttle. Last is with the windows up at full throttle the intake sounds like a supercharger and sounds insane. The bad part was the install took forever because the screw for mounting the heat shield on the fender well side was impossible to get in. The metal part of the factory air vent from the grill had to be pulled one way while the afe heat shield frame had to be pulled the other way. So basically the install was bad because the heat shield box should have been a little easier to mount, other than that the air intake is worth it. I would recommend to buy it because the extra sounds are worth it, just the construction of the heat shield is a pain.
