The BD-Power 1041460 Full Bore Exhaust Manifold will restore the balance to your engines exhaust flow, reduce cylinder load and reduce exhaust gas temperatures. The factory driver side exhaust manifold in your 01-10 Duramax is pinched down to allow for steering shaft clearance that isn't even required! As a result, your exhaust flow is significantly disrupted. The BD-Power Full Bore Exhaust Manifold addresses this issue by maintaining internal bore size. Made from high-silicon ductile iron, the Full Bore is a direct, bolt-in replacement for the factory manifold and is even drilled and tapped to accept the most popular EGT probes.

Stock Exhaust Manifold:

  • Only flows 80% of the passenger side manifold
  • 3 cylinders only operate at 80% capacity & load others down
  • No access to measure exhaust temperature

BD-Power Exhaust Manfilold:

  • Contaings Exhaust Temperature Probe Port
  • Maintains consistent exhaust pressure and temperature on both sides of the engine
  • Flow matches the passenger side manifold and balances the engines exhaust pressure.

 Manifold gaskets not included.

Balance is necessary.

I did the job when I had the engine out, which I guess is cheating. the manifold is perfect and the best deal possible for a true straight flow manifold. The pyro hole is an added bonus. the stock manifold heat cover takes a little coercing to install on this manifold but who cares about that.
Good Product/Much Better than OE

Makes sense to buy this just for the pyrometer hole. Seems pointless that the OE has a big kink after the 1st cylinder to clear the steering column (which is unnecessary). Got this for pyrometer and for complete exhaust system w/ mbrp downpipe and 5" exhaust. Not too hard to install. Uppipe bolts were the hardest part.
Balance for the LLY - Just remember your patience

I Bought the manifold for a couple of reasons: Pyrometer hole, the full flowing design, and to balance off the exhaust flow coming off the engine, all of which it accomplished. It was a minor pain to swap it out though. The directions included in the kit are a little simplified. Removing the steering column made the job a lot easier, but wasn't mentioned in the directions. I also found that applying heat (torch) to the bolt heads, they spun right out. Just watch out for the wiring harness. As stated in the directions, I re-used the factory gaskets and have no leaks. Overall a good product, I'm not at all disappointed with the purchase. Probably 3 hours start to finish to install, not including paint.

i purchased this when replacing the heads on my truck and now with this on, it greatly reduced my egt's and i also replaced the turbo down pipe with mbrp's 4in. downpipe to go with my custom 4in. exhaust. thanks xdp
