The BD-Power 1045985 Exhaust Pulse Manifold features a heavy-duty multi-piece design to eliminate manifold cracks in your 1998.5-2002 Dodge 5.9L Cummins. The single piece design of the factory exhaust manifold is prone to cracks which causes exhaust leaks that can rob you of power. The BD-Power Exhaust Pulse Manifold is cast from high silicon ductile iron, and features an expansion joint to allow the manifold to expand and contract without cracking.

As the name would imply, these manifolds are "pulse tuned" to assist in combustion chamber evacuation and increased exhaust flow. The result is quicker turbo spool-up, reduced backpressure, increased power, and better fuel economy. Great for stock, and performance applications. Pre-drilled and tapped for pyrometer probe.

Features:

  • Expansion Joint Eliminates Cracking
  • Pulse-Tuned For Maximum Performance
  • Cast From Durable, High-Silcon Ductile Iron
  • Replaces OE Part# 3946036
Note:
Gaskets and replacement bolts not included. See related items below.
In non-pickup applications such as motorhomes, please use OE number above to cross reference proper applications.

Great manifold

Ordered it and only took less then a week to get it ! The install is pretty easy and straight forward , it performs good with no issues , the one thing I didn't like was it looks like someone took a grinder to the side of it and painted over it but other then that I am very impressed with it and I like the placement of the egt ports ! Definitely a must i u have a cracked manifold

Exhaust leak fixed and spools faster!!
Daniel ((Southern IN)) 1/9/2015 9:59 PM
Bought this for my 96 because of an exhaust leak on the front two ports. The stock mani was seperating itself from the head and forcing the gasket to block part of the exhaust ports, so decided it was time to go for it and fix it correctly. It has lowered egts and the sound of my exhaust along with added a little more power it feels like. I did have to retap for the egt port as it did not catch as many threads as I hoped but would still buy again.

Very nice manifold! Sweet! Sweet! Sweet!

Put this bad boy on my 01 Dodge over the weekend, and it went right on. Didn't have to remove the turbo, All the hardware worked as it should, thing went right on! Dig the ports for the EGT sensor and they are in a good location. Make sure you order the gasket kit for the manifold, and the turbo. Great product, changed the sound of the exhaust slightly, and turbo spools a bit quicker. also seems the EGT's dropped slightly. Very happy with it so far, can't beat BD's stuff!

Great manfiold

You get what you pay for. It looks almost identical to the ATS manifold, and I think its better because of the EGT probe location. The BD has a better one, as compared to the ats. The installation was a bit tricky (took 6 hours), but I got held up putting the #5 cylinder bottom side bolt in. Removing the turbo is a must, I thought that you could just keep it on, but there is no way to do it without taking the turbo off. Anyways, I could definitely feel a performance difference. And my stock turbo spooled much faster. It even lowered the tone of the exhaust, and made it where you can more distinctly hear each cylinder fire. All and all, its a great manifold, and I would recommend it to anyone.
