Description

The Fluidampr Performance Diesel Series Damper 830111 will reduce damaging engine harmonics in your 2006-2010 GM 6.6L Duramax LLY/LBZ/LMM truck. The factory damper on your diesel has a limited lifespan and cannot control torsional vibrations at all RPMs. In contrast, the Fluidampr offers superior performance that lasts the lifetime of your engine. It is suitable for all stock, work, and competition-built trucks. The Fluidampr reduces wear on your main bearings and other vital engine components, providing more accurate valvetrain operation and optimum engine protection at all RPMs. The risk of crankshaft failure is also reduced.

Unlike the factory rubber-based damper, the Fluidampr automatically adapts to your modifications, providing optimum damping at both peak levels and a broad changing frequency range. The Fluidampr features precision CNC machined and computer-balanced components, eliminating the need for rebuilding or tuning. The Fluidampr design has been updated for ease of maintenance, so you no longer have to remove the damper to change your serpentine belt. Fluidampr is proud to manufacture this damper in the USA.

Best purchase for a duramax

Very simple and easy to install. I’m seeing a difference in the Duramax of idle and performance.

For someone that just wanted a smoother truck for driving around and taking roadtrip vacations, this was the perfect solution. I had my doubts on how much of the vibrations it would eliminate as the truck already seemed pretty good, but it definitely made the truck much smoother and more enjoyable to drive/ride in. There is a little performance gain but a smoother engine makes it worth every penny. Installation wasn't too bad, and I used the lisle 22100 tool and an extra large breaker bar to get the bolt out. No puller needed, the old one came right off and new one went right on.
The best damper for nearly everyone

The only options you have for an upgraded harmonic damper is fluidampr and ATI. The fluidampr is the no fuss, bolt on and go solution for any truck, stock to wild. The ATI in my opinion is more centered for a racing setup, as you probably have to change inertia weights anytime the motor setup is changed. The ATI MIGHT have better dampening properties because it can be tuned, but that's out of my realm of expertise so I cant say for sure. What I do know is most people don't have the time, equipment, or need to be tuning out harmonics to a near perfect level. For the extreme setup ATI for sure, for the other 95% of people, fluidampr. I have a decent build, and I immediately noticed the difference in vibration even AT IDLE. At 1500-2200 rpm it quieted down the truck alot, what I thought was a little drone was probably just my motor vibrations going through the frame. GM should have this dampr on from the factory. NOTE: Buy the fluidampr friction washer so you have way less risk of shearing the factory crank key, or buy a drill ping kit. Also save your stock balancer as you will need it if you ever get your rotating assembly balanced, viscous balancers throw off balancing machines.
