Questions and Answers

What is the wiring of this switch? When I wired up this switch the light on the switch stays on, on or off. The little piece of paper that came with is didn't show much. Is the gold post ground? I have tried swapping the silver posts which are hot wires to see if that would work and the light still stays on. I have ground wire to gold post, battery coming in to center post and power out to the other silver post. Is this right?

Answer
Top =gold, Middle & Bottom = Silver
Top post is ground for your Switch Light. Middle should be your output from the switch to the component. Bottom should be battery power input. Reason for that configuration is the Switch Light is grounded by the wire on the top post and it gets its power from the middle post. Since you have battery power on the middle post you are supplying constant power to the Switch Light.
