Crappy tuner, worse support. SCT ignores it's own customer support tickets.

Nothing new here if you've read the forums or the reviews. first off, if you plan on connecting a camera - don't bother. The picture is laggy, grainy and essentially useless. So no, it does not support video input (my edge cts worked beautifully with same cable and camera). Secondly, the monitor is embarrassingly bad. It's been a known issue since 2012 (YES, 5 years now!! - check the forums) that the EBP is displayed in kpi, but states psi and it is not corrected. Third, their calibrations for the sensors are not necessarily correct, in other words, their programmers didn't bother to even enter the values right. This means that as a monitor, the device is not reliable and the values can't be trusted. Fourth, the device does not update wireless. This has been a known issue for over 5 years as well, and SCT has made no attempt to fix it. They openly tell you via customer service that they don't recommend using wireless update. They have not even put in the effort to remove the functionality from future units - agian for over 5 YEARS! Fifth, the only help customer support is able to offer is via remote log in during business hours. So be prepared to take a day off so you can be at home with your laptop with SCT support remotely logging into your computer. No weekends support for these guys. Sixth, your livewire TS+ will not connect to your truck via livewire. Following the instructions will result in a communication error every time. Customer support just told me (literally today) that I have to go to my menu setting and make sure my device is not set to go to gauges, but main menu. We'll see if this works. Why wouldn't you put that as part of the instructions, or change the programming! Seven, Customer support has told themselves that they put in multiple tickets for the same item and tech ignores them. You heard that right - SCT ignores their own customer support ticket requests! I feel bad for the front end guys...

This tuner is junk. I have contacted SCT multiple times and have never received a response. Every time I plug it into my truck I get engine codes every 20-60 miles. Not to mention my truck runs like crap and my fuel mileage drops. Great gimmick not allowing returns once its been used since you don't realize it's crap until then!!

Got this for my 2004 powerstroke and when it worked it was great but iv'e had nothing but issues. I ended up sending it back 3 times. I do not recommend.

Adequate Tunes, Poor interface and usability

I've loaded and drove on street tune and I like the shift points and the feel. I'm coming from an Edge CTS and only switched b/c I needed the EGR delete. Readings are displayed in imperial units (Fahrenheit) despite the fact that they can only sell the unit I have in Canada. This is basic, basic "know your customer". Compared to the Edge CTS, the displays look cheap. It is graphics, not programming, that does this. The uninspired display along with the lack of units in Celsius makes the unit look very low class and cheap. Second major complaint is the video feed. As stated, i went from an Edge CTS to the livewire. The video output on the edge was crystal clear. However on the livewire it is laggy, grainy and very low quality. I contacted customer support who asked me to update the device. The update software doesn't even like communicating with the head unit. I had to continually unplug and re-plug the usb just to get the program to recognize the head unit. This again makes the unit feel VERY cheap and amateur. The update software stated that the unit needed the firmware upgraded, but that this unit was up to date for my truck. This contradiction reveals that they didn't even spend the few hours of programming necessary to distinguish between Canadian and American units. Aside from the video output (hoping this is a software issue) the other problems are programming. Releasing the product (for over two years now...) without these resolved tells me they have poor quality control. Love this thing. A few glitches at first. But once I figured out what I was doing it works perfect. I love the gauges. Let me know I need a oil cooler.
