aFe Power's new rear differential cover brings performance engineering to the protection of your trucks rear-end. This differential cover has a 5 quart lube capacity (factory cover holds 4 quarts) , a magnetic drain plug, a magnetic tipped fill plug for maximum rear-end protection. Built-in internal and external fins transfer heat from the fluid to the outside air for maximum cooling. aFe has also designed a large oil level site glass with calibration plug set to the factory fluid level to eliminate overfilling. This differential cover is constructed out of durable die-cast A380-T6 aluminum with reinforced ribs and a wrinkle black powder coating with machined fins for maximum strength and styling. This differential cover fits AA-14-11.5 Axles.
When it comes to engineering for power, performance, protection and value, aFe Power is the only choice.

Generally the cover is very nice quality. However, it was dirty on the inside, like some residual from the machining process so I had to clean it before installing. I did have a problem with the threads for the 1/8th" port so I had to spend a little extra time on that. One thing to know is the o-ring is a bit oversized and it needs to be "massaged" into place. The first few times I tried to put it together it seemed it was about a 1/2" too big. I finally figured it out, but it would be nice if the install instructions indicated that; probably wasted 30 minutes.
Also, the install instructions tell you what tools you need. They say you need a 6mm socket, but you will need a 5mm socket as well. Generally, instructions don't indicate the tools needed, so I think good that they include this. However, if they are going to include it, it should include all of the info. If you have a full set of tools it's not a problem, but would be if you don't have a lot of tools, go by what the instructions say, get into the job and find out the instructions weren't complete. Also, their instructions don't indicate the tools necessary to remove the original cover so same comment as above. Lastly, they include a strap and a picture that shows the spare tire and indicates you need this in case there is a clearance problem. The problem is the picture isn't very clear on how to hook up the strap and the above expalanation isn't very helpful. Essentially there are tiedowns attached to the frame and you take the strap, attach it to one side of the frame, loosen the stock factory tire hanger, wrap the tire with the strap, attach the hook to the frame mount on the other side and tighten the strap.
One last comment on XDP, the shipping was quick, but what's with the $2 handling charge? This is a parts business. You need to handle the product to ship it to the customer. Seems cheap to do do it this way, but in this case, their price was still the best and as I said, shipping was quick.

Nice quality diff cover. It comes with hardware including brackets to attach the brake lines and ebrake cable. If I have a complaint it's that the threads for the drain plug and dipstick are cut really rough and the plug/dipstick takes some messing with to get the threads to start.
