Few hurdles but should be fixed on new ones

The design is for multiple year models which is not desireable but AFE has solved the issues with the covers for ports you may or may not use. Mine came with one out of two fixed properly but after calling AFE they sent me the fix for the second port very quickly. The filter is huge and designed very well (grooved flange for clamp, extra hoeny comb metal grate to protect wire covered filtering media, etc.). Good quality and easy but tight fit. It does butt up against oil filter but dont see any issues.

The plastic plug is about the cheapest piece o'sh.. going!! For 5.9 application, I mean. OD too large for fit into rubber grommet. 10 min. of lathe time and I had me custom aluminum plug whipped up. Wonder what I would have concocted if not for the lathe?
Also, intake tube rides mighty close to oil filter. Not liking that!

Awsome Stage 1, Crapy Stage 2

The filter is outstanding, but the stage 2 is a "one size fits two engines" design. The stage 2 has alot of holes in it to work for the 5.9L or the 6.7L engine. AFE sloves this by including plastic caps to plug the holes. The cap did not seal and AFE sent me another stage 2...same problem. The cap is too big for the hole and crimps it. I had to use a glue/paste mixture to keep the plastic cap from backing out of the stage 2 tube. The filter is incredible and the stage 2 problem is fairly easy to fix, but they really cut the corner on this for claiming to have the most "advanced" product out there.
