Auto Meter P73001 Spek-Pro Triple Gauge Kit

These Spek gauges are sweet. I love the high (or low on some gauges) level warnings that can be programmed. Multiple colors to choose from, and the backlight can be independently adjusted without wiring into the dash lights. The wiring, and sensors are easy to set up. I do wish the transmission temp sender wiring was a few feet longer. It’s just barely long enough to reach from the pillar to the transmission lines. Of course the pyrometer wire is a few feet too long which is better than the alternative. The gauges are very snug in the pods. I had to file the holes a bit to get the gauge in the openings. For some reason there’s no hardware to retain the gauges in the pods. There are threads molded into the gauges, but nothing in the kit to screw onto the back. The speaker hole is too close to the bottom pod hole, so the gauge bezel overlaps the speaker. Either have to settle for the gauge being 1/16” from flush, or file down the speaker grill. I wish the pillar itself replaced the factory piece rather than mounting over it. That to me is just bad engineering. It can be used alone if you were to drill into the metal pillar, but it does make for a loose fit around the dash. Overall I’m happy I went with this set of gauges over the Ultra Lites. The extra cost is definitely worth it, and XDP has the best deal on the Spek/pillar kit.
