does help keep cooler pulling over mountian passes but takes for ever to warm up and the allison tranny doesnt approve sometimes when cold

It's relatively cheap, the extra capacity and fin design helps to alievate some of the extra heat. Should look at if do lots of towing or city driving and it's hot like it is down here in Texas.
