The purpose of this kit is to sufficiently filter diesel fuel entering the Duramax system. The GM/Racor design of the factory fuel fitler has been poor and the primary design concern was cost. This fuel filter kit will not only help filter your fuel properly but it will lengthen the fuel filter change interval.
The kit is designed to flow enough fuel to support 500HP and still filter down to 5 micron absolute. Also, the filter supplied with the kit has the largest pleat area available.
