This solenoid replaces the original plastic transducer with a more rugged, reliable and durable metal unit that can handle higher transmission line pressures without failure. This solenoid upgrade is also known to address the "shuttle shifting" and other poor shifting characteristics.

I ordered this governor solenoid (#1386134) after upgrading my valve body with the TFOD-HD2 Diesel shift kit and also installed all new solenoids. Almost right after that the transmission begin shifting back and forth between 3rd and 4th or 3rd and OD depending on whether OD was off due to higher valve body pressure. And sometimes the shift points would be a lil wonky. Ordered this governor solenoid and installed it and now the waffling between gears is gone and it shifts exactly like it’s supposed to through all gears. Definitely recommend this if you plan on upgrading your valve body or transmission!
