The BD-Power "California" Turbo Thruster II 7.3L GTP38 is a stock replacement turbocharger that is legal to install in California (CARB EO number D-553-2).
The “California” Turbo Thruster II units use a 66/88mm compressor wheel that is HIP’d to improve centrifugal strength and flows 1050cfm. The 0.84 A/R, dual volute turbine housing is equipped with a heavy sprung waste gate actuator.
BD’s own thrust collar, back plate and sintered brass 360-degree 6-pad thrust bearing reduces heat build-up and the full floating axial bearings have proven very durable.
A great bolt-in fit for all off-road, street and highway 7.3L Power Stroke applications! The turbo alone is capable of reducing exhaust temperatures, improving fuel economy and engine performance with reduced smoke levels.
All of our GTP38 replacement turbochargers are serviceable and come with a new oil resistant intake hose and clamp.
