Installed on a 1993 cummins, I was over fueling the stock turbo and the hx40 I tried was just too much turbo for the old 12 valve. I installed this turbo and have been extremely happy, I did have to fix up the oil return line, due to interference with the waste gate. Makes good cool power, I can turn up the fuel and make about 35psi before I see EGTS that become uncontrolled. I currently am using the waste gate set at 28psi and I turned down the fuel to manage smoke. I like the turbo, I hual my 40 foot 5th wheel and I dont have much to complain about now. If you're going to put this turbo on a first gen you must have bigger injectors. 5x8s will work but turbo lag will be abundant. I tried it with stockers and 5x12s, the 5x12 work great but smoke in high elevation on the low rpms, overall love the turbo and its working great with my little VE pump
Good turbo but needs a little adjusting to fit.

The turbo performances good make 28 lbs of boost with my 65hp programmer. It is a little lagger than the stock turbo but not bad. its good on egts too. Installing it easy the downpipe was simple. But the wastegate rod hits the oil drain pipe. So i drilled the wastegate bracket out trying to get it away from the oil drain pipe. It still didn't clear so I had to crimp the pipe down some it would clear.
