XDP has teamed up with MBRP to help produce the missing link in the Duramax Exhaust System. Now Duramax LLY/LBZ/LMM owners have the ability of connecting the turbo and aftermarket down-pipe back exhaust system by removing the restrictive stock pipe pictured below. The MBRP down pipe provides a smoother flow from the turbo resulting in lower EGT’s and increased performance. The down pipe is a relatively easy install due to the precision bends that you’ve come to expect from MBRP.

I bought this for my 07 lbz and couldnt be happier.
Spool up time is reduced, sounds great and fit like a glove.
i heard mixed reviews about the diamond eye downpipe fitting better, but this literally slipped right in on the first try. Had a little issue getting the transmission dipstick removed and put back in, but we got er figured. Definitely worth it. the Stock dp just doesnt compare.

My name is Kyle and I was fortunate enough to try out the new MBRP Duramax Downpipe. First I’d like to say I was very pleased with the construction of
the pipe. the welds were very clean and the sheer weight of the pipe was of the upmost quality that you have come to expect from MBRP.
After an easy 1 hour install, just pulling out of my garage I had already
noticed a difference.
not only was the truck a bit more responsive, but the EGTs were already
lower than normal, down around 315*!
just so i had a good base number, I recorded my egts at 70mph with the stock
down pipe before I took it off. on my initial test drive at 70mph I had
dropped 57* degrees with the new MBRP down pipe!
this was far from the best part though, the truck also pulled harder in the
mid to top end and had a noticeably throatier V8 sound. the EGTs would also
drop incredibly faster after accelerating. after seeing 950*, just
30seconds later it would drop down to around 375*. that was actually a full
30 seconds faster than it took to get there before.
not only will this Down Pipe help keep temps under control while towing or
daily driving, but also allow your turbo to last longer and make more
efficient power by reducing that one last restriction in your exhaust system.
we've all spent countless hours trying to get the most out of our trucks,
so don't settle for leaving a stock pipe in there when the rest of your
system is free flowing. I would classify this part as a must do for any 04.5
and up duramax owner.
