Mishimoto radiator
Howard (NC) | July 13th, 2020
This a greatly needed radiator for a 7.3 powerstroke. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that it did not come with plugs only transmission adapters. Needs to have both options. Can't wait to put this radiator in my truck.

NO Downside, if you have the coin.
Louis Greco (United States) | October 29th, 2014
As my headline states, I dont see ANY downside to this unit IF you have the coin to drop. PLUS, it looks AWESOME; For MY purposes that alone is justification. Subjective's aside, I would say s general rule:INSPECT ALL of your large, expensive, shipped items; dont delay or forget like I usually do when projects go on hold & parts dont go on right away. MINE CAME DAMAGED and thus i never installed it . NONE of this was XDP's fault or responsibility as these are, as I understand it, all drop-shipped. BUT XDP CUST SERVICE stepped up,come thru, and had new order placed & sent out THAT SAME DAY. So while I dont {YET} have any real-world, tech details/benefits to share with you: HERE'S a little MISC IMPT DETAIL you DO NEED know, keep in mind, and plan for: this is NOT a drop-in, ready-to-fly, 'no-cutting required' install as indicated. But I'm assuming that the folks buying these, or dudes/gals installing them in a shop} have the relative know-how and tools you WILL need. The welded-in fittings for the tranny cooler are NOT identical to oem Fittings! YOU NEED TO HACK OFF THE OEM STOCK, DEEP-SET INVERTED-FLARE FITTINGS FROM YOUR FACTORY TRANS LINES and then REFLARE the lines using standard 5/8th-18 fittings { ie. the kind which come with replacement 3/8th lines/tube from typical parts stores}. I'm working with Mishimoto to possibly correct/consider this little glitch. But As i see it, if you are buying these higher-end replacements [vs $240 stock oems} you know a little something about cars and this is NO BIG DEAL & GRAVY train fix {assuming you have a GOOD QUALITY flaring tool}; Its just another one of those unanticipated 'things' or wrenches { no pun intended} Life and Projects always seem to throw at ya. This COULD be a PITA, or a consideration, if you're on time schedule, or stuck somewhere [without your tools] in a pinch. Oh, by the way BUY FACTORY LINES...there is a difference. PLUS, I paid LESS for OEM tranny lines than Rock Auto Dorman specials. thx for reading.

Follow up review, revision.

Situation:NOT happy with Mish Customer Service & product Quality Assurance. Its now 3 weeks & STILL getting jerked around by MISH CS since November regarding a solution/resolution to THEIR screw-up product defect. As its obvious, I shoulda noticed the 'defect' prior to test-installing. These may seem small, petty issue but for this kinda $ you EXPECT it to be "right" & fit properly? You decide. MAIN PROBLEM ONE: The Lower fan shroud retainer tabs are literally 3/4 of inch TOO BIG/TALL, not to mention offset by 1/8 from centerline. The fan shroud would flop around and eventual break. TWO: The upper fan shroud stand-off posts/mounting tabs are 1/4" too long so you would need to DIEGRIND hack bit off or use wthrstip foam or other means to properly seal off gaps for proper airflow dynamics. THREE: you WILL need to ALSO modify/cut your oem fan shroud on the upper section which seats on upper rad tank; recall, the formed oem shroud seals against a ROUNDED factory plastic tank. These MISH tanks for squared. No big deal here I guess.. this latter type of issue is to be expected with custom stuff. I will provide photographic evidence to support all my claims. You, as reader can make up your own mind or decide if I'm asking too much for our $800 bucks. I AM TRYING to work with & resolve these issues with factory to create a better product& fix these few glitches. They dont seem too interested & claims they're "looking into it"..which doesnt do JACK for me/us in meantime or reimburse us several hours labor R&R. I'm giving them until Xmas to offer a credit or refund. Meanwhile, I'm consulting with other performance racing & radiator specialists. BOTTOM LINE: Look Cool? Yas. FXN better than oem? Jurys Out but maybe. Worth the Money? Probably not. Worth the aggravation its caused me thus far? No. Will anyone PAY you extra or appreciate a cool-lookin rad when you resell your rig? NOT LIKELY. OVERALL Cost-justified upgrade? Probably No. Fix the defects urslf & hope 4 the best.
