Description
Multiple Ports, Many Possibilities. This elbow has 8 ports so you can inject & monitor a multitude of probes. S&B also provided plugs to cover any unused ports.
S&B tried to blow it up.
Authorized Testing Inc. performed the burst testing on this CNC-machined elbow. Both ends of the elbow were sealed before the test, and water was pushed into the elbow until it failed. The S&B elbow could withstand up to 300 pounds of pressure before cracking at the weld. No more than 30 psi would be seen in a basic truck. No more than 100 psi should be seen on a truck with all the bells and whistles.

Intelligent Attachment
Running two bolts through the interior of the elbow has been the typical approach for attaching an elbow to an intake. Airflow is restricted, and performance is hampered as a result. This elbow connects to the outside of the elbow with four bolts, resulting in a tighter seal, enhanced airflow, and improved performance.

Wish I got the BANKS!! Boost leaks!!

The intake horn fails to provide enough clamping force on the side with the studs even when torqued to the spec of 18ftlbs. If the horn had studs like the banks design where it goes completely through the horn this probably wouldn't be an issue. I have been fighting a boost leak for overt 2 months with this horn. used the boost leak tool from KC turbos and time after time no matter what gasket It leaks between the intake manifold, grid heater, to the intake horn on the side with the studs. Copper gaskets supplied did not work. So i got some plenum gaskets from AutoZone. Did not work either. Used gasket maker and let it set up for 12 hours, that seemed to work for about 4 weeks then it gave out. So i got some gaskets from Napa which i currently have in the truck with gasket maker on both sides of both gaskets. Seems to have helped a little but when I tested with the boost leak tester after each bolt and stud was torqued it still leaks!! Poor design and has been very disappointing. I am very pleased with the S&B intake but the horn has fallen short of expectations. I wish I just went with the Banks Intake Horn SKU #42765.
