Description
The PureFlow AirDog II A5SABC109 DF-165 Air/Fuel Separation System for your 2001-2010 GM 6.6L provides the most effective technology designed specifically to remove water, particulates, vapor and entrained air from the diesel fuel in your truck. The AirDog II is a lift pump and filtration system that enhances the fuel delivery to your engine with a commercial duty system. The AirDog II features the one-of-a-kind Demand Flow Technology which improves on the original AirDog design, by only drawing the required fuel needed by your engine.
Your high performance diesel engine demands higher fuel flows. Yet higher fuel flows increase the vacuum at the fuel pump and agitation in the fuel tank. These factors generate additional air/vapor in the fuel system preventing your engine from producing maximum power and efficiency. Additionally, air/vapor can cause galling and pitting of the injector barrel/plunger assembly and also tip erosion. The AirDog II eliminates air in the fuel that robs your engine of consistently greater performance and can also cause permanent damage to your injectors. The AirDog II also provides the fuel pressures and flows your diesel engine needs to produce maximum power, any time, every time!
The AirDog II System functions by taking fuel from the tank, and passing it through the water separator which removes large particulate contaminates. Then, fuel under positive pressure flow enters the fuel filter. As the fuel passes through the fuel filter, the remaining particulate contaminates are caught and contained, the entrained air/vapor is also separated. Through the positive fuel air separation features of the patented AirDog II, the separated air/vapor is discharged from the filter and back to the fuel tank through the Primary Air/Vapor Discharge Port.
The fuel passing through the filter is now free of contaminants and power robbing air/vapor. At pressures and flows able to meet the needs of the engine, it exits the fuel filter through two passageways. First, the fuel for the engine, passes into the fuel pickup tube and on to the engine. Then, the excess fuel not needed by the engine recycles internally through the pressure regulator back to the water separator. Each kit includes plumbing, hardware, wiring harness, mounting bracket and all components needed for installation.

easy install... once you throw out the supplied directions. Buddy that has one mentioned they are so bad its like they are trying to make you get a professional install. Another buddy with a FASS had the same problem. The directions are literally so bad i could make a better, easier to understand set in 1/2 an hour. That said i looked at the system, figured out what was supose to go where and made a few mods (mounted so filters are above the frame level) and it was easy. only difficult part was pulling the factory quick connects off of the fuel tank.

good stuff easy to install atfer you throw the instructions in the trash. really made a great addition to the LB7 idles smooth improved response and easier starting the prime button has never been that firm. i would recommend this pump and install time was about 4hrs

Questions and Answers
Which unit would you recommend? I have an 06 Duramax with 240,000 miles on it. I have some concerns with the CP3 pump being that old that it may fail. I only use it for towing about 10,000lbs and I would like to get more fuel mileage out of it as well. I plan to install a Banks system for towing. No big HP jumps, just a mild tune.

AirDog and AirDog II 100 units are recommended for up to 500 horsepower.
AirDog 150 and AirDog II 165 units are recommended for horsepower up to 800.
AirDog II 200 units are recommended for anything that exceeds 1000 horsepower.
Differences between and AirDog and AirDog II - The AirDog II aside from having the adjustable regulator, the pump and base assembly are designed different internally. The pump assembly has a Dual Inlet design allowing more fuel to flow into the Gerotor, this allows the pump to increase volume without having to work any harder. The base on the AirDog II is also much different. Internally the fuel is redirected through passageways after being pressurized, this allows less fuel to be returned to the tank and more fuel to be held in the filters for a true "On Demand" system.
