The PureFlow AirDog II-4G A6SPBC262 DF-100-4G Air/Fuel Separation System for your 2015-2016 GM 6.6L Duramax LML is the next generation in the fuel delivery system, resulting in a long lasting, efficient and quiet lift pump. The compact AirDog II-4G provides the most effective technology designed specifically for diesel pickups to remove water, particulates, vapor and entrained air from diesel fuel, all while increasing power and performance.
The design of the patented AirDog II-4G features many innovative improvements for increased pump performance, less noise and less maintenance. The AirDog II-4G utilizes an intermediate pump shaft that moves the electric motor away from the fuel. This eliminates any potential for wet motors due to a damaged or leaking seal. The motors self-aligning capability requires less maintenance and increases the systems endurance, resulting in a longer pump life. The low amperage motor also provides longer drivability and contributes to a significant reduction in noise.

Make sure to purchase a fuel line hose disconnect kit and a fuel line plug — 1/2”. This isn’t covered well, or at all, until you in the middle of the install process when following the manual. Also, the manual calls for filling up one of the filters with diesel before turning the truck on for the first time. Again, not covered in the manual until one of the last steps. I’d attempt to grab some diesel and set it to the side before install the lift pump. For the fuel line the disconnected in the engine bay, use the plug on the end of the hose. The other end of that same line you’ll disconnect from on top of the fuel tank. I wrapped that end in electrical tape, after draining the diesel from it by bend the hose down towards the ground. Be careful where you’re positioned under the fuel tank when disconnecting the fuel line from the top of the fuel tank as you’ll possibly get doused in fuel if you’re directly under it when disconnecting.
Install was easy once understanding which hoses go where. Product seems to be great quality and it’s comforting knowing I now have this lift pump in support of the factory cp4 fuel pump.
AirDog states that it is not harmful or detrimental if you have a 165gph pump for a stock truck, as the truck will only use the fuel it needs and recycle the rest back to the fuel tank. Knowing this after install (heard a bunch of talk how it is bad for the truck — maybe folks where talking about the FASS?) I wish I would purchased the 165gph pump as I eventually want a new drop in turbo, and various upgrades down the line.
