Thermostat is the left side of a secondary radiator for trans cooling, fuel heat and exhaust. Per Alliant Power it starts to open at 190-198F, full open 212F. Makes transmission run at 203F and higher if pulling. Radiator exit thermostat on the right side is AP 63541, begins to open 198-203F, full open at 217F. Alliant Power has no thermostats at lower temp.
PML 11085 deeper trans pan for the 6R140 did nothing to allow cooler temperatures with 3.4 extra quarts, trans still runs 203F and identical to the original Ford trans pan.
