Description

The ARP 150-5801 Main Stud Kit for your 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke is recommended over bolts whenever possible for several key reasons. First is the ability to obtain more accurate torque readings because studs don't "twist" into the block. All clamping forces are on one axis. By the same token, there is less force exerted on the block threads, which contributes to improved block life.

Finally, the there are factors of easier engine assembly and proper alignment of caps every time. All kits come complete with hardened parallel-ground washers and high quality nuts. The studs are manufactured from 8740 chrome-moly steel, heat-treated in-house to 200,000 PSI tensile strength, and precision J-form threads rolled after heat-treat to create a fastener that has threads 2000% stronger than others.

The XDP Thread Chasers allow you to properly clean the threads in your engine block before you begin installation and the fastener torque sequence during your bottom end assembly. Clean threads provide you with accurate torque readings which are crucial when it comes to engine assembly.

What is the Difference from arp 250 4202 studs other than price?

The ARP 150-5801 Main Stud Kit is for your engine mains where the 250-4202 is for your cylinder heads. If you're doing a complete tear-down and looking to make some power with your 6.0L Powerstroke, it's a good idea to do both.
