The ATS 2029013228 Ported Compressor Housing is designed to increase turbo life in your 99.5-03 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke by eliminating the damaging effect of compressor surge. Offering significant advantages beyond a replacement compressor wheel, this upgraded housing with the factory wheel actually flows more than the popular compressor wheel replacements.
Anyone who has ever towed with a 99.5-03 Powerstroke has undoubtedly experienced compressor surge and flutter which occurs between 1800-2200 rpm. When performance products are added to increase horsepower, the compressor wheel accelerates faster and compressor surge and flutter becomes more apparent and damaging Another great benefit of the ATS Ported Shroud is a quieter ride. An opening wastegate, a bad torque converter, or a loose cover plate are a few of the excuses which people mistake for the compressor surge noise. Forget about it...with the ATS Ported Compressor Housing.

If you want to hear your turbo, this will do the trick! I installed with a wicked wheel, banks turbine housing, Non-EBV Pedestal kit, and big head actuator. My EGT's dropped, and boost increased. The power gain is like driving a different truck!!! Only downside is plan on grinding some material off your compressor manifold so it will slip far enough into boots and allow alignment with new ATS compressor housing (wasn't a deal breaker for me, still worth the trouble but for the price they could machine this for a better fit).

Received the item I’m 2 days and was very happy with the quality and it was an easy install. It woke the truck (2002 Ford F-250 7.3) right up!! It now builds boost at lower rpm’s and spools up quickly and sounds great!! Definitely worth purchasing

When towing my 5th wheel across country, including some good-sized grades in New Mexico, I started hearing a "new" noise from the engine. A quick post on The Diesel Stop (r) gave me the answer. ATS Ported Housing! I ordered one and have been very pleased with the performance. The engine is more responsive and accelerates smoother. This was the last mod I put on it (4" MBRP exhause, Edge Juice w/Attitude, Edge Evolution, AFE intake w/torque tube), and it really made all the rest work better.
