The five star torque converter locked up on me for the second time I put a new one in yesterday and boom broke not even 10miles later would not recommend

Shifts are firm in combination with the ats towing valve body. I've put a few thousand miles on my current trans build definitely messed with the idle speed of the truck when I first got it running again. The only thing I don't like is how hot it gets in traffic but that is common in a triple disc so I won't complain. Ambient temp at 90 in traffic for an hour at 10mph or less was 190, Temps fully locked at 70mph was 130-140 with ambient temp at 70. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase

The ATS Five Star utilizes an optimized factory stall speed that features improved torque multiplication. With factory torque multiplication at approximately 1.25:1, the ATS Five Star boasts 2.4:1. This occurs when peak engine torque is achieved. Increased torque multiplication results in improved vehicle response, towing and driving ability.
At low speeds the Viskus Clutch Drive design has more effect on power transfer allowing for optimal stall speed. As the engine to transmission RPM differential speed is increased the efficiency of the torque converter increases. When the transmission input speed is near equal to engine speed, fluid is reversed through the Viskus Clutch Drive. The reversal of fluid is commanded by the factory computer or an external lock-up controller such as the Co-Pilot. This fluid reversal compresses the five clutch plates providing a 100% mechanical engagement ensuring no plate slippage during lock-up even at power levels in excess of 2000 foot pounds of torque.
