The ATS Five Star utilizes an optimized factory stall speed that features improved torque multiplication. With factory torque multiplication at approximately 1.25:1, the ATS Five Star boasts 2.4:1. ATS is local to me in Denver so when my trans went the first time I had them do the rebuild. I went with their stage 3 transmission which includes this torque converter. This converter is not impressive. Driving hard it locks up firm and smooth, but daily driving or towing it seems like it doesn't know what to do. Comes unlocked when I want it to stay locked, wont unlock when I need it to. I've had the truck back at ATS twice now, once for a copilot failure and the second time for a warrantied rebuild because it lost 5th gear. Both times I have said that the torque converter lockup is harsh, this last time in they put in a new pump and new redesigned valve body. Helped a little bit, but now 8 months later I am needing a new torque converter because this one WILL NOT unlock. It will push me through the brakes while coming to a stop, and in reverse it wants to hook up and take off. I will be replacing with a revmax converter because I have never liked how this ATS converter acts. Hasn't been in the truck 2 years and I've gotten just a little over 50k miles out of it.

Will this converter work with the Aisin Transmission?

No it will not. All Automatic Transmissions & Components are for the 68RFE transmission found in the 6.7L Cummins 2500/3500 pickup trucks. Unless otherwise noted, they will not work with the Aisin transmission found in Cab & Chassis models.
