The Banks Power 42235 Super-Scoop for your 2007.5-2009 Chevrolet 6.6L Duramax 2500HD/3500HD or 2007.5-2010 GMC 6.6L Duramax 2500HD/3500HD Pickup is a great addition to the Banks Ram-Air Intake System. Factory systems don't draw the cooler air from underneath, and many aftermarket “filters on a stick” designs leave the filter wide-open to all the hot underhood air, which steals power. Super-Scoop attaches below the front bumper, forcing a big charge of cool, pressurized ram air into the Ram-Air Intake's air filter housing. Because the air is taken from outside the engine compartment, it has greater density and makes more power than the warmer engine air. Super-Scoop's cooler, denser air also increases fuel economy, reduces smoke, and lowers exhaust gas temperatures! Rainwater and debris are channeled out of the bottom of the scoop. The more air that can flow through the engine, the more oxygen will be available for burning fuel. That means greater, more efficient combustion, which results in more power.
