Most Popular Questions

Will this work with a programer
View Staff Answer

Yes, the BD-POWER 1515940 TURBO BOOST BUILDER can be used in conjunction with a programmer.

What's the difference between this and a boost valve increase, and could you run both together?
View Staff Answer

A boost increase valve will limit the amount of air the wastegate “sees” thus increasing the pressure the wastegate will open at.

A turbo boost builder or “boost fooler” will trick the MAP sensor into thinking the vehicle is not producing enough boost.
A boost builder/boost fooler is typically used when the vehicle has an aftermarket turbocharger and experiences fuel cut at an elevated boost level.

Sometimes I get overboost code towing a trailer, will this fix that. Stock turbo, 70hp tune 2003 GMC 2500HD, 4" exhaust, CAI. Don't need higher boost, engine has 230,000 miles on it still runs good, no oil consumption.
View Staff Answer
The BD-Power 1515940 Boost Builder will prevent overboost codes but has no affect on how much boost your truck makes.
Can I use both a boost increase valve and the boost fooler at the same time on my lb7? Will it damage anything?
View Staff Answer
Yes, you can use both a boost increase valve and a boost fooler at the same time but remember, a boost fooler is only necessary when the truck is creating enough boost to cause an overboost code. Monitoring your engine with gauges is a great way to prevent damage from occurring.
