My old steering was so sloppy. Chasing the wheel back an forth. Lots of play an worn out lower U-joint. I put the new steering shaft in an It made a huge difference in the steering. Its so much easier to keep the tires in the lane. A must do if your steering was like mine.

Solid Piece

Purchased for my 1998 2500 4x4 and couldn't be happier. It's stout and offers minimal play around the joints; greatly reduces vibrations at the wheel and fixed a lot of slop in my steering. A little spendy but leaps and bounds better than any Dormain part or other manufacturer.
Super Beefy - Made in the USA!

I recently installed on of these on my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x2 along with a Borgeson steering gearbox. It's basically one big heavy hunk of precision American steel with smooth precision u-joints on the ends. It's very well made. A good upgrade to eliminate and prevent the possibility of future steering shaft play.Be aware Borgeson supplies this item unpainted with only a light film of oil covering it. If you don't want it to rust over time (and reports suggest it will), then you'll need to spray paint it before installation. I wiped mine down well with brake cleaner (to remove the oil), masked off the rubber accordion boot, then spray painted it with ordinary hardware store semi-gloss black paint. I let it dry overnight and installed it the next day. It looks great.
