*Discontinued* DFC Diesel Remanufactured Short Block Crate Engine

The DFC Short Block Crate Engine is a great option for any 2003-2004 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7 owner who needs to replace their damaged engine. Each Duramax engine remanufactured by DFC has been updated to fix common issues with the factory engine. Every Duramax engine features an EDM oil pump shaft with a hardened dowel installed to prevent slipping and the risk of oil pressure loss. DFC engines are remanufactured to meet strict guidelines, providing you with a dependable replacement for your stock engine. Each engine is machined with some of the best machining technology in North America using Rottler machining equipment. This machinery allows this engine to have tighter tolerances than OEM specifications, making DFC's engines more efficient and longer lasting.

Engine Remanufacturing 

The DFC short block is machined with near identical weight piston and connecting rod assemblies to help you get a smoother running engine that makes less noise and is more balanced. DFC short blocks include reinforced internals with new pistons, rings, doweled oil pump, bearings, and rods.

Complete short block with the front cover and seal, rear cover with main seal, all new internal components and complete gasket kit for installation. Oil pan and rear engine housing are not included. These components are specific to the Kodiak/Topkick models and you must re-use your existing components.

Oil Cooler - highly recommended and mandatory if your past engine had a bearing failure.

Injectors - highly recommended especially on higher model engines or engines with contaminated fuel.

Turbocharger - recommended if mileage over 125K, mandatory if shaft play, or if engine was dusted.

Water Pump - highly recommended if engine has over 125K. 

Evans Waterless Coolant - recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion and boilover. 

 

Oil pan and rear engine housing are not included. These components are specific to the Kodiak/Topkick models and you must re-use your existing components.

The specific brand of each component may change due to part availability at the time of each build. Parts are chosen at the discretion of DFC and cannot be specially requested. DFC uses only the best components sourced from multiple brands during the remanufacturing process and backs their engines with an industry-leading 5-year 100,000 mile warranty.

Note: $500 Crate charge is included in core charge total. Engine shipping crate must be returned with core engine to receive full core credit.
