DFC Diesel Remanufactured Long Block Crate Engine

The DFC Long Block Crate Engine is a cost effective replacement for your 2006-2007 GM 6.6L Duramax LBZ Kodiak/Topkick and a great alternative to replacing your diesel truck. DFC makes critical improvements during the remanufacturing process to maintain reliability. One of these improvements is that every Duramax remanufactured engines receives an EDM oil pump shaft with a hardened dowel installed to prevent slipping and reduce the risk of oil pressure loss. DFC also uses Rottler machining equipment so your engine has tolerances that are tighter and more precise than OEM specification. DFC makes sure that every engine is built to the same high quality standards by only using the best cores and rejects components that require considerable “restoring”. These precision remanufacturing processes makes DFC’s remanufactured Long Block Crate engine an extremely reliable engine.

The DFC short block is machined with almost identical weight piston and connecting rod assemblies to help you get a smoother running engine that makes less noise and is more balanced. DFC short blocks include reinforced internals with new pistons, rings, doweled oil pump, bearings, and rods. 

Unlike some other engine builders in the industry that re-use wearing items like valves guides, DFC replaces each one with a new cast guide in every cylinder head. DFC installs all new valves from high quality sources like MAHLE or SBI. To address common cracking areas in the cylinder head, DFC also machines each head to remove the factory hardened seat material. DFC then installs new SBI valve seats to help eliminate premature cracking giving you a more durable cylinder head.

Complete short block with the front cover and seal, all new internal components, cylinder heads with all rockers and pushrods installed, doweled oil pump gear, woodruff keyed camshaft and complete gasket kit for installation. Oil pan and rear engine housing are not included. These components are specific to the Kodiak/Topkick models and you must re-use your existing components.

Oil Cooler - highly recommended and mandatory if your past engine had a bearing failure.

Injectors - highly recommended especially on higher model engines or engines with contaminated fuel.

Turbocharger - recommended if mileage over 125K, mandatory if shaft play, or if engine was dusted.

Water Pump - highly recommended if engine has over 125K. 

Evans Waterless Coolant - recommended upgrade to prevent corrosion and boilover. 

 

Oil pan and rear engine housing are not included. These components are specific to the Kodiak/Topkick models and you must re-use your existing components.
