Description

The Diesel Performance Converters DPC D1300 Low Stall Super Single Torque Converter is the perfect torque converter for up to 500HP. The Super Single Torque Converter includes a new billet lock-up piston, and billet front cover for strength and to prevent deflection of the lock-up surfaces. The larger lock-up friction supports mild power upgrades to your Cummins. DPC uses torrington bearings to eliminate friction points common in the factory design. For added durability, the internal components are TIG Welded and furnace brazed.

Great converter! It will need a good shift kit or an aftermarket valve body in conjunction with it so the transmission will have proper pressure.

Answer

Yes, the DIESEL PERFORMANCE CONVERTERS DODGE SUPER SINGLE TORQUE CONVERTER in combination with a high performance Suncoast valve body would be a great setup for a vehicle with approximately 100 horsepower over stock.

Will this fit in conjunction with 48re transmission?

I mostly pull a 5th wheel camper and a car tailer what would you recommend for stall speed.

Answer

For your application and what you use the truck for mostly, a 150 RPM under stock would be the best bet.

I have a 1999 dodge cummins with approximately 120hp over stock. What would the recomended stall speed to run?
View Staff Answer
Answer
This will depend on your turbo setup and overall goals of the truck. For many street trucks that are used for towing, daily driving, and performance, owners choose a lower-than-stock stall converter. With a responsive turbo, a low-stall converter will deliver more power to the rear wheels. Lowering the stall speed also reduces the transmission’s temperature. With a lower stall speed, less time elapses before the motion energy of the impeller is converted to motion energy to drive the turbine, so the transmission runs cooler and lives longer. Higher stall speeds converters are most often used exclusively in drag racing, sled pulling, and hot street applications requiring large turbochargers.
