The original style snap to connect (STC) fitting was found to have a very high failure rate. The failure can range from a minor leak which leads to hard starting or a catastrophic failure with the fitting blowing apart causing the engine to die.
Ford determined the issue and developed an upgraded STC fitting to solve the issue. If your truck has not been upgraded it would be wise to consider doing so before any issues arise from a potential failure.
