The Ford STC HPOP Fitting Update Kit 4C3Z-9B246-F is a must-have upgrade the High-Pressure Oil Pump in your 2004.5-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke. This fitting update is designed to stop minor leaks from the STC fitting that can cause hard starting overnight, rough start up, and long cranks when the truck is hot. The failure prone stock fitting is also known to blow apart, cause your engine to die completely without the ability to restart, leaving you stranded.

Do not waste your time trying to save a little money. Get this Ford Motorcraft kit. Everything is there, turbo oil supply gasket, jig with plastic screws from properly aligning the new STC fitting and quality o-rings.

Is this update needed for an 03 engine?
The Ford STC HPOP Fitting Update Kit 4C3Z-9B246-F will only work with the 2004.5+ 6.0L's built after 9/22/03.
I have a 04 F350 that I bought new in May 2004. I don't know the actual build date, can it be determined without the truck?
Call your local Ford Dealer with your VIN# to check the OEM # on your HPOP. If they say you have the 5C3Z-9A543-ARM pump, then this update kit is correct for your application. If they say you have the 3C3Z-9A543-AARM pump, then you have an early 03-04 application and this kit will not work with your truck.
On the 04 I found out I have a 4C3Z pump, the tech didn't know if it needed updating. Do I need an update?
There are no updates available for the 2003-2004 Ford 6.0L's with High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP) 3C3Z-9A543-AARM. This kit is specifically for the 04.5-07 Ford 6.0L's with High Pressure Oil Pump (HPOP) 5C3Z-9A543-ARM.
The best way to determine if this Fitting Update Kit will work with your application is check you build date & ICP sensor location. Trucks built after September 30, 2003 and/or ICP sensor is located on the passenger side valve cover (above the glow plug control module) would use this kit.
The OEM# that Ford provided me for my HPOP was 4C3Z-9A543-ARM. Will this kit work?
I believe you are referring to the Ford 4C3Z-9A543-(AARM). This would make the truck a late production 2004. This pump is different from the 05-07 pump and would not use the STC HPOP Fitting Update Kit 4C3Z-9B246-F.
