Banks SpeedBrake is a revolutionary, patented all-electronic braking system with downhill speed regulating capability, user-adjustable setpoint speeds (25-75 mph) and built-in safety. It takes exhaust braking to a whole new level by combining intelligent manipulation of the variable geometry turbo's turbine vanes with specific control of gear selection and torque converter clutch application when engine braking is desired. SpeedBrake has various operating modes and settings to optimize braking function for individual preferences and conditions.Features and Benefits:More effective braking than is possible with a simple valve assemblySystem Status Indicator with on-screen alerts (excessive coolant or trans temps, for example)Easy, clean install; all-electronic design requires only a few simple underhood connections; no modifications to the exhaust system are neededIn testing, dramatically outperformed all competitive products in basic braking function (and nobody but Banks has anything like a Speed Control Mode!)Easy touch-screen control - Displays vehicle speed, current braking effort (relating to vane position), trans temp, engine coolant temp and much moreOBDII scan tool capability: reads/interprets/clears codesSystem Status Indicator with on-screen alerts (excessive coolant or trans temps, for example) Operating Modes:ON: Maximum braking; High, Med and Low strength settings SPEED CONTROL: Maintains pre-selected target speed Note:SpeedBrake requires use of Banks Power iQ or PDA.Grade percentage parameter shown on monitor is no longer available. BD-Power Duramax Exhaust Brake6434.00
BD Engine Brakes enable your Diesel to navigate downhill grades and mountainous terrain easier and safer than using the vehicle's conventional braking system. This will increase the life of the stock foundation brakes and also prevent brake fade under severe grade driving. The factory-approved backpressure provides the retarding horsepower to slow down the vehicle on even the steepest descents or just slowing down for a highway off ramp. The exhaust flow is not restricted when the stainless butterfly is open in the large 4 casting that bolts into the exhaust system. The kit is complete with a lighted toggle switch for mounting conveniently on the dash. The brake releases as soon as the throttle is applied or the switch is flipped off. As in other BD designs, the backpressure is self-regulating. Once the pressure reaches the DuraMax specification, the butterfly position changes to maintain the highest pressure possible. This variable orifice design offers far superior retarding performance throughout the engine RPM range compared to a fixed orifice design that only offers peak retarding performance at peak rpm.The new Allison equipped DuraMax is designed to downshift once the tow/haul button is selected, which results in a Silent Retarding Force at all vehicle speeds.BD-Power Manual Trans Lever Switches36633.00

Pacbrake C18037 Maintenance Lube191771.00
Pacbrake exhaust brakes are relatively maintenance free when used at every opportunity. However, to get the maximum amount of trouble free service a few areas require periodic lubrication.
Lubrication is one key factor for trouble free service of your exhaust brake. The two reasons that give an exhaust brake problems are worn parts and seizing parts. Worn parts are caused by extreme use without the benefit of the proper lubrication. Seized parts can be attributed to seasonal use and lack of lubrication. Periodic lubrication will prevent these two issues. Applying Pacbrakes synthetic lubricant to the moving parts at every oil change will eliminate both these problems.
FOR OPTIMUM RESULTS, FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS
With the engine off, apply a sufficient amount (4-5 drops) to the following locations:
Both cylinder pivot ends
Cylinder air line port
Main butterfly shaft
Base of the spring lever (PRXB only)
Pacbrake C40075 InLine Mount PRXB Exhaust Brake1911635.00
Pacbrakes flagship product, the PRXB (pressure regulated exhaust brake), is the unquestioned leader in the supplemental brake industry. The patented PRXB design delivers the strongest braking horsepower, greatest speed reductions and shortest stopping distances possible without the use of service brakes. It maintains optimum retarding performance by maximizing the exhaust backpressure throughout the entire RPM range. Unlike a typical exhaust brake, which requires high RPMs to work properly, the PRXB delivers constant exhaust pressure (braking) as early as 1200 RPM through to the maximum allowable RPM.
Controlled by a master ON/OFF switch, Pacbrakes exhaust brakes provide
whisper quiet supplemental braking that allows service brakes to be
used much less, ultimately saving you money. They have the ability to
be left on all the time, making it ideal for in-city driving or for
steep, downhill grades. This product pays for itself as less wear on
the brake pads means fewer brake jobs.
WHATS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THE PRXB?
In order to have consistent and effective braking over the entire RPM range, it is important (and necessary) to maintain constant backpressure. To achieve this, Pacbrakes patented design has incorporated an additional waste gate on the butterfly valve to regulate the amount of exhaust flow that is being passed through. The flow is controlled by a spring-loaded arm, whose pressure rating and location are key factors in the functionality of the PRXB. Located outside of the housing and away from the heat, the spring is able to maintain its strength and durability for years of proper and precise braking performance.
CREATING and MAINTAINING BACKPRESSURE
Backpressure is created by exhaust flow entering the housing, hitting the closed butterfly valve and being forced back out in the direction it came. It is maintained by the pressure-controlled spring that is located on the outside of the exhaust brake housing.
PREMIUM BRAKING PERFORMANCE
As the engines RPM increase, the spring compresses and the arm moves away from the butterfly valve, therefore releasing more exhaust flow through the orifice. As the RPMs decrease, the spring releases and the arm applies pressure back onto the plate, covering the hole, and ultimately releasing a smaller amount of exhaust flow.
There is less than a 10% change in backpressure over the entire RPM range on the PRXB
Features and Benefits:
PRXB Delivers Strongest Braking Horsepower
Less Wear and Tear On Service Brakes
Ideal For In-City Driving Or Steep, Downhill Grades
Fits trucks with both single and dual alternator. Vehicles with aftermarket 4" O.D. exhaust systems will require C11400 adapter. (see below)
A good way to control your speed when tackling a decline is an exhaust brake. These units work by stopping the exhaust flow, which leads to increased back pressure that slows your engine down. This will keep your speed in check without using your brakes. Some exhaust brakes that will automatically adjust to your truck's highest recommended pressure. When the unit is not in use, the exhaust will flow freely without restricting exhaust, so you can keep you power up and your temperatures low.
