The HSP LB7 Factory Style Cold Side Intercooler Pipe from XDP, also known as the HSP Cold Side Tube Factory Style is the perfect upgrade for your 2003-2004 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7. Because of the massive amounts of power and airflow being left on the table with the LB7 trucks, HSP went to work.
The factory-charge air system on the LB7 trucks is extremely restrictive. With that being said let's talk about it and take a look at why that's an issue. To make power, you need air, with the charge air system on the LB7 trucks it is a massive choke point. The turbo can move so much more air than the system can handle, the intercooler being able to move that air becomes the restriction first.
HSP Diesel quickly saw this chokepoint on the LB7 trucks. So they started by increasing the diameter of the tubing. HSP went up to a 3" tube diameter, this gave a major flow difference over the factory part. After the size dialed in, they went on to bend this pipe with the smoothest bends they could do. This gives the air the best path to flow and gave the least amount of turbulence in the flow. Many of their customers state a power increase however that increase will vary depending on the other aftermarket products that you have on your truck. Regardless you are going to be extremely happy with everything you gain with the HSP Cold Side Tube Factory Style.
