Description

The HSP LML Hot Side Intercooler Pipe from XDP also known as the HSP Hot Side Tube is an ideal upgrade for your 2011-2016 GM 6.6L Duramax LML. The hot side pipe is something that is a common failure and necessary replacement on many Chevrolet and GMC trucks.
The factory hot side pipe is a part that fails often on the Duramax trucks. This part is not only an issue when it fails because it is not always a quick change but also because when this fails it creates a boost leak. With a boost leak, you will be down on power, and you will quickly have issues driving or towing. There is nothing you can do about the factory-style hot side tube other than replacing it with a different style.

To start the HSP Hot Side Tube increases performance dramatically. With an increase of up to 40% over the factory style. The HSP Hot Side Tube makes big changes to make these increases. HSP starts with a bump in size to 3" diameter and make sweeping bends. They use mandrel-style bends to ensure not only a proper fitment but also that the bends are as least restrictive as possible to give us less turbulence and the most efficient flow. This design also allows for a straight connection to the intercooler, eliminating any issues with the silicone boot which is the common point for boost leaks.

After blowing off 2 stock pipes while pulling trailer I decided to go with aftermarket pipe. Stock truck. Its a tight fit to get threaded in past all the wiring. Only thing I could recommend is that the reducer boot could be an inch longer on each end. It's only 4inch overall length. The 3 inch side hits a pipe that can't be moved and it now sits tight against it and that didn't allow the 2 inch side to slide completely on. As for performance I'll decide that when I get the trailer hooked up.

Just installed the hot side down tube on my Duramax. I can see how HSP solved many problems with their new design. My factory tube started blowing off on a regular basis. I installed the HSP pipe to stop the blowing off. I’m confident that this upgrade will solve the problem. Time will tell.

Good Fit , straightforward install

The product I ordered was raw so I can't speak to the powder coating. The fit was dead on, a little tight to wiggle into place and I ziptied some wires away and had to slightly bend 2 hardlines to keep from touching. I must have been living with a boost leak prior to the GM coupling tearing off because I was not expecting any performance gains but after install my truck seems quicker to spool up. Very happy with the purchase.
