Will putting this on my 2014 Chevy 3500 Duramax put me at risk of voiding the warranty? Can anything go wrong? I want to swap out the ugly exhaust pipe on my new 2014 Chevy 3500 Duramax, but the dealer said if they can prove it caused any damage from altering the exhaust system, such as heat related problems, they won't cover the repairs. Can anything go wrong with having this on my truck that the stock exhaust would prevent?
View Staff Answer

Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) . For best results, consider working with performance-oriented dealerships with a proven history of working with customers.

(It would take extensive amounts of research and proof to show how the upgraded "tailpipe" caused any failures with the truck.)
