XDP has teamed up with MBRP to help produce the missing link in the Duramax Exhaust System. Now Duramax LLY/LBZ/LMM owners have the ability of connecting the turbo and aftermarket down-pipe back exhaust system by removing the restrictive stock pipe pictured below. The MBRP down pipe provides a smoother flow from the turbo resulting in lower EGT’s and increased performance. The down pipe is a relatively easy install due to the precision bends that you’ve come to expect from MBRP.

  • 3" Mandrel Bent
  • Extra Thick Aluminized Steel
  • Satin Black Ceramic Coating
  • High-Heat Thermal Wrap
  • Steel CNC Machined Flanges

  • Smoother Flow from Turbo
  • Reduced EGT’s
  • Increased Performance
  • Throatier Sound
  • Faster Turbo Spool-up

Totally worth it!

Removing the stock downpipe is quite troublesome. But the MBRP slides right in! Better throttle response, lower EGTs and a much throatier sound above 2000 RPMs. Would do this upgrade again in a heartbeat!
Much, much more flow than stock

Invoice number: 952571A Ok, the removal of the stock downpipe was the hardest part. Install of the new one was a breeze, and fit right into the turbo. Mounting all lined right up with exhaust manifold and then clamped to the front pipe. This with the 5" MBRP exhaust made a BIG difference. Look at the pictures of it compared to stock and it's easy to see why you'd install this.
almost no difference

Very difficult to install, little to no change in sound. I understand that Duramax run quite and smooth but, i guess if you listen for it you can hear it.. I will say throttle response is noticeably better!
Well worth it!!

I am in the process of "unrestricting" the turbo as much as possible. I have done an intake, turbo inlet, and an Intercooler tube (hot side). I wanted to do the down pipe, which I had on my registry with XDP. Fortunately for me, the wife's dad got me the MBRP down pipe from my wish list. Let me tell you, the difference between the OE dp and the MBRP is ridiculous. The OE one is literally flattened to make room for the heat shield that's attached to it, and the tranny dip stick. After getting it out, it weighs a friggin ton!! Not to mention, it was kind of tricky to get out due to its unfortunate design. The MBRP literally slipped right in. I did it by myself, and after working it up to the turbo, I went to the top to secure it, and it was already sitting flush up to the turbo. After starting my truck, and just pulling from the driveway, I could feel the low range responsiveness. Stepped into it a little more, and could hear it even more!! The turbo sounds better too ;) anyway, great buy for the amount. It looks great, sounds great, and totally beats the OE dp.
Perfect fit

Didn't know if I could get the old one out or not but I did and this new one fit perfect. Great price and great product. Thanks
