Merchant Automotive 10428 Engine Coolant Thermostat Kit

Bought thermostats- great price, quality of parts, and tech support.

Replaced the thermostat in my LLY… I’ve seen videos of the quick-n-dirty method of replacing the thermostat where the oil fill tube and A/C compressor were left in place… good for you if you can successfully do it this way…. Being my first time on the LLY, I decided to get everything out of the way… which is where the two new O-rings come into play… I don’t plan on replacing the thermostats again for another 100k miles so why not replace all the wear items and insure a leak-free install. I said this kit was “almost” complete for this reason: installation of the thermostat requires draining the coolant… there is one more small O-ring on the radiator drain plug which, IMHO, should also be replaced… I pulled a new one out of my stash… but for some, it would be nice to include this third O-ring in this kit. A small thing to be sure… and not a deal breaker… for the competitive price and quick arrival at my home, I’d definitely purchase this kit again…
