XDP has the Merchant Automotive 10428 Engine Coolant Thermostat Kit that will replace the stuck thermostats in your 2001-2010 GM 6.6L Duramax. A blocked thermostat could be the cause of your Duramax diesel truck not heating up or overheating. The thermostats on your 2001-2010 Duramax 6.6L V8 truck can become stuck open or closed over time, creating heating and cooling troubles. To complete the installation, this thermostat kit contains the front and rear thermostats, as well as the oil fill tube seal and upper radiator pipe seal.
The front thermostat on a Duramax Diesel engine is symmetrical in shape and placed in the forward position of the thermostat housing. When the temperature reaches 185 degrees, the valve opens, allowing coolant to flow to the radiator. On a Duramax Diesel engine, the rear position thermostat is placed near the fire wall. It's distinguished by its offset design and built-in bleeder valves. At 180 degrees, it opens, allowing coolant to flow to the radiator.
