The Odyssey Extreme System battery delivers the massive starting power, rapid recovery, and deep cycling capability that modern vehicles demand. The Odyssey Extreme Series Group 34 battery puts out an astonishing 850 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) and 1500 PHCA (Pulse 5-second Hot Cranking Amps).
The batteries employ dry cell Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology to contain the acid, just like many of the popular spiral-wound batteries. This allows the battery to be installed in almost any position, even sideways. They are all built to stringent specifications and feature Robust Intercell Connections. This offers additional protection against the high impact shocks and vibrations that often cause premature battery failure
Odyssey batteries are manufactured using flat plates made out of 99.99% pure lead, not lead-alloy like lesser competitors. Pure lead plates can be made thinner, so more of them fit inside the case. More plates means more surface area, which translates into more power! Up to twice as much power as some conventional batteries.
