Description
Add airflow to your 2016-2022 GM Colorado/Canyon 2.8L Duramax LWN with the S&B Filters 75-5086 Cold Air Intake with Cleanable Filter. With a 16.20% increase in airflow over the stock intake system, this Cold Air Intake provides increased performance and throttle response.
3 Airflow Configurations
Depending on your airflow requirements, you can use the box plug to have the front inlet be the primary source of airflow, install the auxiliary air scoop for two extra inlets or neither and open up the back-side of the airbox to provide a large secondary opening for airflow directly to the filter.
Large Airbox and Filter
S&B's intake kit for your Colorado / Canyon Duramax has a large airbox that engulfs as much available space as possible while mounting perfectly to stock mounting positions.
Less Restrictive Than Stock
Designed to minimize restriction. The intake tube is positioned in one clean line with little obstructions from the turbo inlet to the airbox.
Optional Auxiliary Scoop
Attaches securely to the airbox and is designed to pull cool air directly from the wheel well with two additional air inlets.

This air intake gives a big boost in noise, and a little boost in power. After the 2-3 hour install, we drove the truck around and on the highway to notice a subtle change in response, but a big increase in noise. Now you can really hear the turbo whine. Some may like the extra noise, some may not. I am somewhere in the middle, but I would take the extra noise to get the power bump.
I went on later to do some exhaust work to the truck, including an engine and transmission tune (check out HD Diesel Supply, Canada for the tune) and this air filter seemed to really help the whole system.
The only 2 things I personally disliked was the vague instructions on the manufacturer's website, and the extra noise that sounds like a vacuum hose. (The turbo sound is fine, but the raspy vacuum sound was a little much until I got used to it.)
