S&B Tanks 10-1000 56 Gallon Midship Replacement Fuel Tank

Great tank 10/10 recommend over a titan all day. I just installed this tank 24 hours before this review. I installed my traction bars 14 hours before my fuel tank. I have bought the longhorn fab 201049-72 and installed it prior to my tank. Luckily when I installed the traction bars I put them at the shortest setting and drilled holes in my frame and mounted them there because I felt they were a little long. Glad I did because one of the horns on the tank come out right in front of the bar and bracket. it looks like S&B designed the tank for a truck to have traction bars but it wasn't perfect. I had to lower the tank about half an inch lower than preferred to clear the bar and it still rubs the Heim joint but not as bad. I added a friction plate to the tank to prevent the joint from rubbing a hole in the tank also the small grease fitting had to be removed from the heim. I wish I could upload a picture to show.

Love the range increase over the stock 26 gallon tank. It used to feel like I was always filling up. Easy install. Only complaint is that the level sensor wont start dropping until youve used around 10 gallons. The float needs to have a longer sweep in order to make it feel like an OEM quality unit, but thats a minor issue. Overall very satified.

I have a 2012 F350 diesel that comes with a 26 gal. tank...wimpy for long trips hauling an RV. I wanted an undercarriage replacement tank and found this one online. Ordered it July 2022 and had my mechanic put it in. As he had the same tank in his truck it was doubly easy for him. If you want to know how many miles to empty you lose that attribute. The gauge will be as accurate as it always was as far as where you are in the tank, but the calculation your truck does based on MPG to give you estimated miles to empty will be off. When I fill up, it tells me I have 999 miles to empty. As time goes by it becomes more reasonable but still way off. I am a fill it up at 1/4 tank and I find that the gauge is close enough. So, 1/4 should be about 14 gallons. When I fill up then I find the number to fill is about 40 gal. give or take a couple. If you need more accuracy, the miles traveled divided by MPG will give you a pretty accurate estimate. I know they make a software update to the truck that will give you an accurate miles to empty, but I did not get it. Overall, I really like this tank. It leaves my bed empty and is designed to fit and make maximum use of the space available to it under the truck...hence 56 gal. Highly recommend it.
