Most Popular Questions

With the tank not meeting Title 49 US Federal Registry standards, will I run into issues should I get pulled over?
View Staff Answer
Title 49 US Federal Registry Standards applies to tanks which are connected to the vehicle’s fuel system. Because these tanks are designed specifically as a transfer tanks, they have not been through the required testing to meet this regulation. Title 49 does not apply to any of the, “Liquid Transfer TANKS,” presently on the market no matter the brand name. The only way ayou would have any issues is if you connect this tank directly to their vehicle’s fuel system. If connected properly it wouldn’t cause harm to their vehicle, but would take them out of regulation.

In review, the tank was designed as a liquid transfer tank and not replacement fuel tank so it does not have to meet Title 49 US Federal Registry Standards.
