The Valair 13" Upgrade Clutch NMU70279-01-5SCE is a great addition to your 1994-2003 Dodge 5.9L Diesel 5-Speed NV4500 Transmission. The Upgrade Clutch is a great improvement over the OEM Clutch and features a quality construction. Expertly engineered to perform at a high level, the Upgrade Clutch is great for light towing at stock HP levels and is best suited to trucks without or only minor power modifications.

Love this thing so far. Has such a smooth takeoff and can put the power to the ground with no issues. All I have done is my afc housing is about maxed out but like the description says, for trucks with little to no power modifications. But daily driving it is a dream around town and this made my trans shift and go into gear so much better. Xdp is a great company from what I can tell. Got my order quicker than expected and it was a clean and well packaged item

I put this on my stock 1998.5 2500 5spd w/185,000 miles with 4" exhaust and original transfer pump. With my old clutch I could start off in 3rd or 4th gear and the rpm's bottomed out with every shift. It is my daily diver and I haul a 15k trailer every other month. I also installed the VALAIR HEAVY DUTY REPLACEMENT HYDRAULICS NMU70HYD-02 and the two together made a huge change. The truck shifts amazing and I had to get used to taking off and changing gears all over again. I would recommend this clutch kit for anyone who wants to upgrade to better than OEM. Excellent purchase!!

The Valair 13" Upgrade Clutch NMU70279-01-5SCE includes all that is needed to install the clutch on a 94-03 Dodge 5.9L Cummins 5-Speed Trans. The Kit includes: Flywheel, 3400# Pressure Plate, Clutch Disc, Release Bearing, Pilot Bearing and Alignment Tool. (Works with your stock input shaft)
The Starter Spacer kit allows the use of the 5 Speed Starter Motor and NV4500 Transmission with a NV5600 6 Speed Flywheel (Not needed for this clutch)
What's considered "minor power modifications"? I have 100hp injectors and soon an edge juice with attitude. Where would that land on the scale?
Minor would be between 50-75HP (less than or equal to 400HP & 900 Ft-lbs.) Choosing the proper clutch for you application can depend on a number of contributing factors.
