Walker 210-1045 Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) Sensor

Replace the failed ambient air temperature sensor in your 2002-2010 Dodge Ram 5.9L/6.7L Diesel with a Walker 210-1045 Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) Sensor from XDP. Also referred to as Air Charge Temperature Sensors (ACT), Manifold Air Temperature Sensors (MAT) or Intake Air Temperature Sensors (IAT). This sensor measures the air temperature entering the engine and sends this information to the vehicle's onboard computer (Powertrain Control Module or PCM). The PCM uses this information to estimate air density, allowing it to balance the air/fuel ratio. Hot air is less dense than cold air, so each type of environment requires a specific air/fuel mixture.

These sensors can fail eventually due to simple wear and tear. The sensor connector and wiring harness can lose connectivity over time. Exposure to excessive moisture can erode the sensor internally, causing erratic readings. Also, accumulation of oil and carbon can cause failure on the ACT sensors.
