The XDP HD Replacement Battery Cable Set XD428 is a superior replacement for the frayed or corroded battery cables in your 1999-2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke. Old or damaged battery cables can cause a multitude of issues in your truck. From poor charging to hard-starts and even no-start conditions. Improperly maintained or failing battery cables can also cause strain on your electrical system and leave you stranded.
The XD428 Battery Cable Set is constructed from a 2/0 (or 00 AWG) wire for superior conductivity and durability. Each cable end features crimped-on tin plated copper terminals for a secure long-lasting connection. As an added step, an adhesive lined heat-shrink wrap seals the terminal crimps to prevent oxidization and battery fumes from shortening the life of the cables. Each kit comes ready to install with military style battery terminals, terminal covers, and wire loom for added protection.

Got a set of these a few months ago, and these are amazing! Thickest battery cables ever,all of them are much heavier than stock cables! Between that and an upgraded alternator and new batteries it's almost like a new truck! But the cables alone are the best I've ever seen on a truck like this and well worth the money!

This upgrade should be on the top of your list if you have not replaced your factory wires. This kit is complete and very well put together. It comes with EVERYTHING you need even these cool zip ties that replaces the factory plastic clips that were taped onto your factory wires. All the cables are nicely labeled and placed in a wire loom. The wire terminals are well assembled and the cable lengths are a perfect fit. The battery terminals provided even come with a nifty extension bus bar to allow for auxiliary wires to be connected to the terminal. (At the time, 2022, these were the most inexpensive battery cable kit I found online compared to similar kits.) I definitely would recommend this for others. This is definitely a relatively simple install as long as you take your time and replace one wire at a time.

I installed these and an XDP Gear Reduction Starter(XD253) on my 2000 7.3 PSD, if you own a 7.3 Powerstroke I absolutely guarantee this is a must have upgrade. My 7.3 hasn't started and worked this well in quite a few years.
