Don't just replace the failing alternator in your 2001-2007 GM 6.6L Duramax, upgrade it with the XDP High Output Alternator (New) XD224. The XDP Direct Replacement Alternators are the perfect option for the Duramax owner that upgraded their truck and wants more than a remanufactured parts store unit.
Common performance upgrades like plows, on-board air systems, horn kits, and lighting upgrades can max out the capabilities of your charging system. The XD224 is designed to increase reliability and output of your charging system to alleviate the strain of aftermarket upgrades. With a 220 Amp output, this alternator almost doubles the factory output. This gives you the ability to get the most out of your charging system whether you're out plowing snow, or at an event showing off stereo system upgrades.
The XDP High Output Alternator (New) XD224 is a direct bolt-on replacement and requires no modifications for installation. Each alternator comes pre-tested and is ready for installation.

Since my old 145 Amp alternator died and no autoparts stores had a stock replacement in store, I figured that a upgrade was in order. This unit installed just like stock and lined up great. Looks good under the hood too!

So far so good. My old alternator started acting up as the voltage regulator wouldn't kick on until I started physically driving or bringing engine RPM's over 2000. Only then would it max out at 13.6 volts and fluctuated between 13.1 volts and 13.6 volts while driving. After installing this bad boy, once the truck warms up and the intake heater kicks off my charging voltage climbs to 14.7 volts and is steady even with the a/c or heater on, lights, and music cranked. I'm happy and my LBZ is too, thanks again XDP.
