I put this alt on a '07 F-450 which is my service truck. I've got 2 computers in the truck, 1 that runs all the time. Aftermarket interior lighting, lighting in the service bed bays, lighting in the bed, lighting on the outside of the bed, as well as spotlights.. I typically have battery chargers going for power tools, a 400w inverter.. There is a huge demand on the charging system in this truck to say the least. It fried new factory alternators in about 2 months time. They'd be very hot to the touch as expected.. Bought this alt hoping it would be up to the task, and it works great. It's been on the truck for about 6 months.. I dont have to put the truck on high idle for it to keep up like I did the factory alternators, voltage is steady as a rock ( for what the PCM is commanding it to do anyways ). Stays cool to the touch. I couldnt be happier with it, even if by chance it failed tomorrow, I'd buy another one. I've got 3 other trucks, which are just standard trucks, but have winches, spotlights etc etc, when they fail I intend to install this alt. The price is just a tad higher than a new one from the dealership, but it's well worth it. The physical size, the weight of it is the first thing you notice.. It's not a piece of junk, if it was even in the slightest, it wouldnt have gotten a good review.
