I’d take it back for the stock pipe
Bighorns53 (Montana) | June 2nd, 2023
Very tight fit, beat the crap out of the hydroboost lines trying to fit. My stock pipe was bent/misshaped right at the turbo flange, and leaking. Purchased this upgraded pipe as a fix. Lost notable performance, and barely fits. 2 stars for no boost leak. That’s about it, is rather go back to stock.

I installed this on my 06 lbz and have noticed better throttle response, and seems to have a little more power. The pipe itself is definitely bigger than the stock one. My only complaint would be how tight a fit it is and a pain to do alone. Took about 2 hours to complete. I would buy again.

I upgraded my total exhuast system prior to deploying to Iraq. I noticed that my engine had a slight surge while at idle afterwards. After researching the problem I discovered that replacement of the stock Intercooler Tube was a must. I purchased this product while deployed, XDP thanks, and along with a new exhuast manifold for the driver's side two things happen. One...the engine surge went away. Two the truck has more throttle responsive and more power either at towing or daily drive. Installment took 1 1/2 hours. Great product here offered by a great company. Thanks XDP.

Good clean pipe. Install wasn't bad. The pipe is quite a bit bigger than stock. Nice clean powered coated finish!

I installed this on my LMM along with the Bladerunner and Stage 2 Intake from AFE and let me tell you somethin, DAMN! I cant vouch for the dyno number they claim (16 hp, 49 ft lbs) but I do believe it. Money well spent! Thanks again XDP.

I read a lot of intresting ideas about this product and a lot of people don't belive this product will do anything for the motor, But don't belive that people just don't know or are ignorant. As soon as I installed the new pipe from AFE there was a huge difference less bends thicker and the coating was amazing started the motor I could here a little more whistle and throttle response was quicker less time to spool up and the motor just was smoother. I think anyone trying to upgrade parts on their motor should invest can tell the immediate difference

Frequently Asked Questions

Just to verify this comes directly off the turbo on the driver's side Will this cure the problem I have where the hose at the turbo keeps popping off under load?
The AFE Intercooler Tube Upgrade is the hot side intercooler tube which comes off the turbo and uses improved couplers combined with stronger clamps to help prevent boot blow off. The installation instructions can be found HERE.
