K&N 57-1532 FIPK Air Intake System

This is the second K&N intake I have on my personal vehicles. This is a pretty straight forward install but some type of instructions might be helpfull! I ordered with economy ground shipping and it shouwed up overnight. I run K&N filters on most of the 9 vehicles I own.

Amazed how fast this showed up at my door step. Everything packaged as described and the product is typical K&N product. Great quality and design with stickers to satisfy the CA Smog police hahaha.

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 and being a Harley user of K&N products I felt secure that this would be a good product. Quite the opposite. Let me list the issues: 1. The retaining support bracket for the heat shield to be connected to the fan shroud. The hole was not large enough for the actual 8 mm bolt. I had to machine the piece to make this work. 2. While connecting the S pipe to the turbo was straightforward the filter end was too short to actually reach the inner heat shield. 3. Because of 2 the cone filter could not reach deep into the heat shield. 4. Even if the S pipe had reached the heat shield their was inadequate space inside the heat shield to contact the filter. To summarize: the design of the heat shield is impossible for the intake system to work properly on my 2005 Dodge 3500 5.9L. I will be removing it shortly. I am amazed at the reviews claiming success and ease of installation. I double checked my order, the box and all the criteria and yes I ordered the correct component for my model and photo documented the box which listed my Truck. I will never use a K&N product again and will remove the current filter from my Harley.

Overall better air flow , you can hear spool . Decent power increase as shown on my edge tuner . Probably a 20-30hp increase . Bt it makes more room in the engine bay and looks cleaner than the stock garabage air box . I went with the 5inch MBRP exaust from XDP also . This sounds is amazing the 5inch idle with the turbo spool . For the price of this intake it’s well worth it . Around a 3-4 mpg gain plus turbo spool . Sounds really good paired to mbrp exaust .

Easy installation, great price and a sound that let's everyone know you're turbocharged. I have owned several K&N products over the years and I feel they are the absolute best in the air intake business. This kit comes with the torque tube, most other systems don't. You can't buy a better system at any price.

After the incredibly simple install,I was blown away by the free breathing spool up of the turbo.The sound is awesome and the economy should be up a little,too early to tell(as long as I can keep off the loud pedal that is.) After plenty of shopping XDP had the best price, I'll be back!
