Mean Green High Output Alternator 7796

They sent out 3 different alternators (each one having a different issue) and I'm still not getting over 14v, even with all the accessories turned off. Their customer service is completely unresponsive unless I contact XDP and ask them to contact MeanGreen and ask them to reply to me. When the first one failed I was told to buy another one, then swap them out and they'd refund me in full for the second one once I sent the first one back. That way I wouldn't have any down time. As of this review it's been more than 6 months and they have yet to refund me for the second alternator or the shipping, and they do not respond to calls or emails. I also invested hours of time replacing all the terminal ends of every wire in the charging system, cleaning ground contact points, testing solenoids, etc. Anything I could think of involving the charging system because I was certain it wasn't my brand new expensive alternator. With them not refunding the second one I purchased, and having to ship two back (they sent the third one at no cost), I now have nearly $1000 invested in my new alternator I have sub par performance. Absolute trash, the only thing worse than their product is their customer service.

Bought this alternator in May of 2018, Truck has had about 30000 miles put on it since then, and this already failed. Had it sent out to a rebuild shop. They called me back and said this alternator is all Chinese parts. Don't waste your money on this.

Bought and had issues right away mailed back and got replacement, lasted 3 years then seized up, not even 25000 miles on the alternator.

Purchased 1/2015 as an upgrade to the stock alternator. It lasted 3 years and less than 15,000 miles. The problems began a few months ago with the truck being incredibly hard to start & sometimes stalling at start-up. Once it got running, the truck seemed a little sluggish. One morning went to start the truck & the truck wouldn't start, almost thought the batteries were weak & I would need a jump. I did finally get it to start, but only after ripping the serpentine belt apart, only to find this $400 alternator was seized, bearings must be junk. I almost want to give this product 2 stars for being able to stall a 7.3L....kinda impressive!

died in 4 years quit charging . I called mean green tech support he told me my batteries were bad, after I told him I tested my batteries with a hydrometer . long story short I put the old alternator back in wich is 15 years old charges better than mean green . installed on a 99 7.3 pwerstroke . not worth the money

I saw great reviews for the Mean Green alternators for my 02 F250 7.3L diesel. Two days after installation there was a bad electrical smell. Figured it was just varnish on the coils. Smell never went away and coils are now crusty black. Several attempts to get a return call from manufacturer have failed! Warranty may claim to be several years and 300 miles, but good luck when you need to return it!
